Adrian is a solicitor. Following qualification and training, he practised as a partner in a commercial firm of Manchester solicitors. After leaving private legal practice he worked as an in-house governance and legal adviser in the education sector, first at South Cheshire College, a further education college in Crewe, and subsequently at the University of Chester where he was also University Secretary.
