CDLT Launches Trust Ambassador Programme to Inspire the Next Generation of Leaders

Pupils from across CDLT recently came together for the Trust’s first-ever Ambassador Day, launching an exciting new programme designed to develop pupil leadership, strengthen connections between schools and celebrate what it means to belong to the CDLT family.

Representing all eight Trust schools, the newly appointed Student Ambassadors spent the day building friendships, sharing ideas and taking on the first Trust-wide Ambassador Challenge.

The day began with a special welcome centred around the Trust’s Christian vision. Pupils gathered together to light a central Trust candle before representatives from each school lit their own school candle, symbolising how each school forms an important part of one Trust family. Together, the children shared the CDLT Trust Prayer, reflecting on the Trust’s vision of Shaping Better Futures. One Body; Many Parts.

Throughout the day, ambassadors took part in team-building activities, including a creative “Connection Web” challenge, before officially launching the CDLT Ambassador Challenge. Each school was challenged to create a one-minute video celebrating belonging within their own school community and sharing what makes their school such a welcoming place for everyone. 

Working together, pupils designed colourful posters representing key themes including belonging, challenge and togetherness, before rehearsing and filming a collaborative launch video that will introduce the Ambassador Challenge across the Trust. The afternoon concluded with pupils learning and recording the new CDLT Trust song, creating another opportunity to celebrate the unique identity of each school whilst reinforcing the shared values that unite the Trust.

The Ambassador Programme is about giving young people a genuine voice and the opportunity to lead. Seeing pupils from across our schools learning together, supporting one another and embracing our vision of One Body; Many Parts has been incredibly inspiring. We are excited to see the creativity and enthusiasm they now take back into their own schools.”

The Ambassador Programme will continue throughout the year, with pupils leading projects within their own schools, collaborating across the Trust and helping to shape future CDLT events and initiatives.
